Jana Curll's Blog: Art and Life Collide

Design, Art, and Illustration

Hello! I haven’t forgotten you!

What the hell!? The New Year comes and all posts stop?! Well…yes and no. I’m closing in on my due date for chickpea #2 and I had to do some serious rethinking about how I was going to proceed with job, art, blog etc etc. I have to face facts that the painting will just [...]

Happy Christmas Eve!

Sometimes beloved characters don’t translate to toddlers. For example… But according to Jack… Happy Holidays! See you in the New Year! -Jana & the Boys.

Enjoying the Little Things

Jack-Attack turns two today! Hurray! He is the only one in the world who can get me into the cold and actually enjoy it! We celebrated a day early (Sunday) by spending a wonderful morning at the Aquarium, which he loved! Happy birthday bud!

Hallowe’en Monsters!

Full moon, schmull moon. This is what happens when Jack doesn’t nap. My Hallowe’en Recommendation! I love, love, love the illustrations in this book and it’s a favorite of Jack’s too. It’s great to read aloud and fun to find things in the pictures. Perfect for Hallowe’en. Hope you all have a good one!

happy birthday…plus a whole lot more

Today is my husband Kelly’s birthday! Hurray! Excuse for cake! With Jack entering year two soon, I find it fascinating that he is starting to look more and more like my husband, but as his personality emerges I think that my genes are a bit more prevalent. I never really thought a lot about how [...]

taking a breather.

Summer is my least favourite season. (Blasphemy I know, from someone who lives three quarters of the year in the rain.) Or more accurately, it’s my least productive, and somehow I equate (worthwhile) productivity with happiness. I blame 17 years of schooling and 17 summers where my brain was allowed to gear down into first [...]

heat in the heat.

A few cool times wasters for you today. Enjoy and happy Wednesday! Cool candle animation. A neat application where you can draw with flame.
